My name is Terri Smith aka tlsdesign. I have forever been interested in the art of crafting; everything from macrame’ in the 70’s to quilting and fiber art in the 80’s and paper crafts in the 90’s. I have enjoyed participating in many local art shows over the years and have always been self taught. Numerous fine art classes at the local college fueled my creative spirit, but it wasn’t until I took a 4-Day Intensive Workshop with reknowned collage artist Jonathan Talbot in the fall of 2003 that I realized my true passion:
MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE.

There had to be a reason that I was hoarding different types of unique papers, old books, vintage magazines, and old photos; saving them for a higher purpose. I finally found the "purpose" and the best way to create images with my stash of treasured papyrus thanks to that weekend collage workshop. To be able to tell a story or compose an image with the snippets of yellowing, forgotten pages of once-loved books or cherished family photos found at antique markets of strangers long-gone is a challenge and a pastime I truly enjoy. Incorporating these images into functional art such as coasters, charms, and art chairs has given me the opportunity to share my creations with family and friends . . .and now you.
